The WASZP is the most eagerly awaited and talked about one-design dinghy in generations. Various sailors during test flights have managed to foil after only a few minutes in the boat and come away enthusing about how much fun they had.
Since those early days, the WASZP class has grown and grown making it the largest one-design foiling class in the world! Every boat is produced to the same tight specification, meaning it’s down to the sailor to squeeze the speed out of the boat. Designed to minimise barriers to foiling, anyone from teenager to adult, male or female, can jump in a boat and have fun.
Currently the UK are fortunate to boast the largest domestic WASZP fleet with over 130 boats (Jan 2025). The WASZP Games were hosted at WPNSA in July, with around 250 boats from all over the world.

Sailingfast and WASZP teamed up to host the WASZP Games UK at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA).
Duncan and Emma have been running Sailingfast in the UK for over 20 years and jumped on board with the WASZP almost from the very beginning, 2016.
The Event was a huge success with around 250 boats coming from all around the world to compete in the largest foiling event in history.
Next up WASZP is off to Pensacola Yacht Club in March for the WASZP Games 2026, so whether your experience in the WASZP or your a complete beginner there will be something for everyone.

The WASZP is supplied as a complete package with everything you need to get started on your foiling journey. All you have to decide on is the colour combinations of hull, tramps and sail!
