Brit Rory Hunter wins the WASZP International Games Trophy

The Sailingfast Team have been watching the WASZP International Games with great interest over the last few days as the battle for the top spots was very close. We are delighted that Brit Rory Hunter has done it and is bringing the WASZP International Games trophy home with him.

Container of WASZPs arriving now

This week Sailingfast are expecting the arrival of another container full of shiny new WASZPs. Included in the container will be boat number 700, the 700th boat to be manufactured worldwide. This boat will be on display at the RYA Dinghy Show in March at Alexandra Palace. 700 boats have been sold since June 2016, which is a remarkable achievement and shows no sign of slowing down.

There is still time for you to join the foiling fun, practice and be on the start line for the WASZP Europeans in July on Lake Garda. A number of the container boats have already been sold, so you will have company on the learning curve.

WASZP Europeans – Lake Garda 2019

In 2018 the WASZP Europeans was well attended with over 60 boats on the start line. In 2019 we expect to see over 100 boats make the trip to arguably one of the best sailing venues in the world. The family-fun atmosphere is perfect for a family holiday. The Sailingfast Team and shore crew will certainly all be there in force (don’t forget your best table football moves…)

Sailingfast will shortly be sharing details of boat transport options from the UK to Garda. With multiple collection points in the UK, it couldn’t be easier to attend one of the most organised regattas in the world. Consider it a stepping stone to maybe winning the WASZP Games International Trophy in 2020?!

WASZP UK Circuit

If Lake Garda is too much of a stretch, there is also an established UK-wide circuit, headlined by the WASZP UK Nationals at Rutland Water in May. The class are expecting to announce a great title sponsor in the comings weeks. Watch this space!
