Paddlefast Tuesday Paddleclub Success

Paddlefast report their Tuesday night Paddleclub has become a firm fixture in the summer calendar. Paddleclub is an informal get together in a variety of locations, everyone from first timers to experienced paddlers are welcome to come along and get involved.

Paddlefast founder and owner, Emma Hepplewhite, says, “Paddleclub started out with just 2 intrepid paddlers back in the snows of April. Numbers have hit double figures a couple of times over the summer. I’m delighted to say word is spreading and we now have a few regulars at each location.”

Paddle locations have included sea venues, canals and lochs including Largs, Dalgety Bay, Loch Ard, Loch Lomond and various canal launch points such as the Boathouse, Kilsyth, the Park Bistro, Linlithgow, Meggetland, Edinburgh and the Bridge Inn, Ratho.

With experienced paddlers teaming up to go exploring longer distances, the beginners are shown the basics and usually off chasing the more experienced paddlers within half an hour! Paddlefast had been offering their demo boards for people to try at Paddleclub free of charge.

Emma continues, “The long-term aim is for the regulars to run Paddleclub but for now, we’re always happy to see new faces. The only essential piece of kit is to bring some biscuits along with you for afterwards – oh, and perhaps a spare change of clothes!”
