Building on the success of the popular XHL block this is the latest Allen high load block featuring titanium sheave and ceramic bearings for improved performance and reduced weight.
The Allen brothers, Tony and Glenn, started their business back in 1956 with a vision of producing performance sailing hardware driven by their passion for sailing and their love of engineering, innovation and technology. The first fittings, which they designed and made for their own race boats, were such an improvement on everything then in use, that they were persuaded to set up full production to meet the demand of the growing dinghy sailing market.
The ILCA sailing dinghy is the world’s most popular adult racing class boat.
True to one-design standards, each ILCA in the world is identical ensuring the best sailor on the water wins the race, not the boat. The ILCA is a challenging boat that rewards athleticism, subtle steering and trimming techniques. However, the tactical excellence of the sailor also plays a factor. The ILCA dinghy is raced by young and old alike from the Club level all the way to the Olympics.

Which rig is right for me?
Time to jump on the weighing scales! If you are new to the class, you need to have a look at the weight ranges for each rig size.
ILCA 4 (formerly Laser 4.7) weight range is 45kg -60kg
ILCA 6 (formerly Laser Radial) weight range is 60-75kg
ILCA 7 (formerly Laser Standard) weight range is 75-90kg
The ILCA comes with a Harken fit out as standard. Carbon upgrade options are available for the Top Section, Bottom Section (ILCA 6 only) and Tiller & Tiller Extension. The team at Sailingfast have worked closely with the Laser Class since 2002. We offer new and used boats, a part exchange service and a sail-numbering service. The Sailingfast mobile chandlery trailer supplies support at key regattas and sailing events.
