What is your age?
I’m 14 years old
What are you studying, or what did you study?
I am going into year 10 at Rugby High School and I start my GCSEs this year.
What do you sail?
I have just completed my last Topper event (in August) and I’m really looking forward to having the ILCA as my main boat.
Where do you sail?
My home club is Draycote Water SC, however most of my winter is spent at WPNSA (Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy) training.
Who introduced you to sailing?
When I was 6, I met the Olympians at the Dartmouth Regatta. They had just come back from Rio, and I got to hold their medals. From then on, I really wanted to start sailing!
Do you have a role model/inspirational person that you follow? If so, why do you find them inspirational?
My role model is Hannah Mills as she is one of the key people that inspired me to start sailing. As well as being one of the most successful female sailors ever, she is really passionate about the environment and a brilliant advocate for female sailors.
What would be your best advice or top tips for younger sailors or new sailors?
My biggest advice to new sailors is to take every opportunity you can as you never know where it is going to take you and to just enjoy it!
Tell us something about you that no one else knows
My other enjoyment is playing netball and I’m captain for my team.
What’s your superpower?
My resilience and ability to reset after a bad race.
What bit of sailing kit can you not live without? And why?
Definitely my boot drier as it makes winter sailing slightly more pleasant on a cold morning (even though they get wet straight away as soon as you launch).
What’s your ultimate dream?
